3rd Annual “Kay Day” Recap

As part of our mantra of supporting grassroots and community-based events, iLuvBBall was on-hand for the 3rd Annual “Kay Day” Family Day & Basketball Tournament. This is our second straight year supporting this great cause which is put on in memory of Ka’Juan Polley a Hempstead Village Youth that was tragically killed by an unlicensed, uninsured driver.

The event that took place at Lincoln Park in Hempstead, NY had a fun and exciting atmosphere for all, featuring music, games, and entertainment for all ages, FREE FOOD (yum), and most importantly to us and our fans – a basketball tournament. Teams like Team United, the LI Rough Ryderz, LI Lions, Elmont Lawmen, Long Island Pride,Young Snipers, Habits Basketball and more competed in a free tournament to honor the game “Kay” loved.

One of our partners in basketball and in the community, the Long Island Nets, were also on-hand with their on-going efforts to reach out and touch the community their team calls home to – Long Island.

The LI Nets were interact with and gave away goodies to the kids that attended the “Kay Day” event

The 14U Championship went to the Elmont Lawmen, who also participated and made the playoffs at our #iDtop4 Showcase earlier this month.

Congratulations to Coach Kevin Barnes, the crew, and to their MVP Jasir Parker.

The High School Division Crown fittingly went to KP23 Elite, the team named in honor of Ka’Juan Polley which has been competing and winning championships for years now (even winning our 2015 #iDtop4 16u Championship and being the runner up in 2016 for the 18u Championship) while carrying on the memory and legacy of Ka’Juan. MVP honors went to Danny Ashley who attends Uniondale HS.
